Included is a Sputnik shell and Air Plant.
Sputnik shells are real dried sea urchins. In the wild, they have spikes like a hedgehog. Once dried the spikes are removed from the Sputnick shell. The dried shell makes a unique display for air plants. Air plants (Tillandsia) are low maintenance plants that do not require soil. Air plants require low to bright light making them easy and suitable houseplants. Be sure to avoid long periods of no light and direct sunlight. Despite their name, air plants need more than air to thrive. Like all plants, they will need water. Misting 2-3 times per week or submerging in water for 20 minutes once a week will do the trick. Be sure to shake the air plant after watering in order to prevent the water from settling into the crevices.
The air plant in a sputnik shell makes an interesting and unique gift or as an addition to your own house plant collection.
